I have raised domestic and wild birds since I was a child, helping my father retrieve a cardinal from netting that was protecting his grape vines. We even raised five baby Carolina wrens that were about a week old, inside with our lab Hershey…this was a challenge. I can not say enough about hummingbirds. I feed them, watch them and hold them occassionaly. Then I paint a lot of them. I never tire of painting them. They are so small but give so much enjoyment to people from all walks of life. My mother loved flowers, and passed along her joy in gardening. I plant ,water , water, water, then photograph for the times when I don't have blooms to hold when working on a new painting.
