What artists have been an influence on you?

I would have to say that the combat artist from the civil war that provided pen and ink drawings from the battlefields to various tabloids at the time have had a great influence on me. Artists like Edwin J. Meeker, Harry Fenn, J.D. Woodward, and Walton Taber to name a few. I am always inspired by the artist and crafts people I am around as well. That is one of the advantages of being an exhibiting artist and doing shows and festivals around the country. I am constantly surrounded by very talented and creative people who inspire me.

Where did you study?

At the kitchen table. That is, from a very young age my parents encouraged and nurtured my artistic abilities. My Mom would put me at the kitchen table with crayons, pencils and white cardboard shirt inserts that my Dad would save from when he would have his dress shirts done at the cleaners. Over the years as a designer, I have learned many different art mediums. So, I guess you could say I am self taught.
