Welcome to the Chet Dowell Gallery of outdoor nature photographs. It has been my privilege to extensively photograph wild animals and wild places across this country. As I have seen and photographed the beauty of nature manifested in its many forms my sense of connection with and concern for our planet has grown. A percentage of the sales through this site will be donated to organizations working to ensure protection of our wild places.

Nature and wildlife photography led me to explore many grand and beautiful places and permitted me the time to observe what might easily have been missed. I have photographed on many of our National Parks and National Wildlife Refuges as well as state parks and designated wilderness areas. I traveled to Maine for puffins, to Northern Ontario for wolves, and found fox and coyote in Montana and wading birds in Florida. There have been many wonderful experiences as I wandered nature's trails. I have a deep appreciation for all of our varied landscapes, from desert to high plains, from the coast to the mountains. All are worthy of our wonder and celebration .
